When working with our API, you’ll notice that each tournament has a state attribute.

• States prior to starting a tournament:
  • pending - still adding participants, changing the format, setting rules, etc.
  • checking_in - if the participant check-in option is enabled, this is the period when participants are permitted to check in
  • checked_in - if the participant check-in option is enabled, this is the period after check-in results have been processed
  • accepting_predictions - if the bracket prediction option is enabled, this is the period when people can submit their predictions
• States once a tournament is started:
  • group_stages_underway - for 2-stage tournaments, this is the period when the group stage is being played
  • group_stages_finalized - for 2-stage tournaments, this is the period when the group stage is completed, but the final stage hasn't been started
  • underway - the final stage of the tournament is underway
  • awaiting_review - all results have been reported and can be reviewed and edited if needed
• States once a tournament is ended:
  • complete
